Board of Directors

Somrith Sorn

 

Somrith Sorn is the current President of the Cambodian Association of Greater Philadelphia. Prior to his current role, Mr. Sorn devoted much of his time as a member on the Board of Directors. Mr. Sorn has an extensive backgrond in business, real estate and retirement planning.

 

Roeum Long

 

Roeum is the Vice President of CAGP's Board of Directors. Mr. Long is currently employed at Jewish Employment and Vocational Service (JEVS), as a Case Coordinator. Prior, Mr. Long was a staff member at the Cambodian Association, managing mental and behavioral health programs, and utilizing his licensure as an interpreter to aid families with language barriers.

 

Mary A. Faustino

 

Mary joins CAGP's Board of Directors as treasurer with more than 30 years of experience in accounting within the corporate sector. Her extensive professional background includes affiliations with Asian American Women's Coalition and the League of United Veterans For A Better Government. In 1998, she was honored by the Susan G. Komen organization for great community involvement as a breast cancer survivor.

 

Chantha Chum

 

Chantha is the secretary of CAGP's Board of Directors. Currently an ESL teacher at the School District of Philadelphia, she also devotes volunteer hours as an instructor for CAGP's Khmer Language Classes, under the Cambodian Cultural Program. Ms. Chum is interested in preserving the Khmer language, thus she is involved with an organization in Thailand that helps preserve the language amongst the Khmer Surin people.

 

Bunrath Math

 

Bunrath is a Clinical Social Worker and Therapist for the Intercultural Family Service, an independent non-profit human service agency that provides an array of community-based health and social services. He has his BS/MS in Clinical Social Work. In his free time, he volunteers for many projects including Friend Without A Border, an organization that helps run a medical hospital and provide medical services to rural Cambodians.

 

Thinh Thach

 

Thinh graduated from La Salle University with a bachelor degree in Elementary Education, concentrating on special education. He is currently teaching for the School District of Philadelphia for the past 4 years. Thinh started volunteering at CAGP during his senior year of high school as part of CAGP's youth program. Then I joined the SCEP program. Two years later, I became a college monitor for the SCEP program. During this time, I also became the Youth Empowerment Program assistant. After two years of being the college monitor, I became the SCEP coordinator and I was also the IDA coordinator. I also became the after school program literacy teacher at the south center. Then I became a board member and I have been on the board for the past two years.
